As Intelectual property has seen to be a popular subject. We recently posted about IP for protecting ideas with NDA, Provisional Patents, as well as Non-Provisional Patents. However, another very important piece of your business idea or companies is the name itself. A registered trademark is shown by an R with a circle around it. After you have an idea and may want to protect it by getting a trademark there are two steps that you want to take. First, is to have a trademark search done, this cost about $1,500 and ensures that your name is open to be used and does not infringe on anyone else’s trademark.
